Highly detailed dotted markings in multiple colours illustrate the Deerubbin (Hawesburry) River system on Dharug Country in NSW. The use of manifold hews in blues, greens and yellows capture the story of the rippling rainbow effect created when the nearby leaves of the eucalyptus and tea trees fall onto the water. The combination of oil, water and reflected light rays omits a wavelength of colour whilst the lighter lines inform the viewer of the tidal systems and cultural flows of the river – like reading a map.
